About Education & Care Service

Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.

What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?

20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Young Petals Early Learning Centre Drury, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

“Perfect little daycare awesome children to teacher ratios. Young petals is like a little family to us as all 3 of our children have attended , and the owners are amazing. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a small daycare, amazing teachers who strive for the best for your child. Also an amazing new upgraded outdoor play area that all the children seem to love”

“Wonderful, small, family run daycare. My child has been there from 7 months old and now over 3 and loved it the whole time. It's not one of the flash, new purpose built centres but don't judge a book by its cover. It actually has far more outdoor space that at most centres so the children has loads of outdoor play time and are not crowded and they have lovely staff who really care and engage with the children. Would highly recommend”
