What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Wee Wisdom Montessori Drury, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Our child transferred here from another daycare in May 2025. The teachers are amazing, so respectful of the children. They sympathise and acknowledge the children's emotions and allow them that feeling. The teachers are calm, happy, caring and responsive, not at all stressed or reactive. This is the most important thing for us. The children are so happy and content whenever I see them at pick up and drop off and parent/transition days. My son barely has time to say goodbye he is eager to start his day. The environment is orderly and calm, the kids nervous systems are relaxed - I put this down to a mix of the philosophy / non-cluttered space, the brilliant and well trained teachers, and the great outdoor areas. He speaks very fondly of teachers and comes home calm and happy at the end of each day. He loves packing his lunch with us and we really appreciate being able to provide lunch so that he gets quality, healthy food.”
“My daughter has been attending Wee Wisdom Montessori Drury since November 2024, and previous to her joining she had been enrolled to several other daycares, kindergarten etc and not one of those centres did she enjoy more than she enjoys Wee Wisdom! I am so proud, relieved and happy that I have finally found a centre that caters to my daughter’s skills and abilities but more so encourages their children on how to become their own independent person! I have so much respect for the teachers they have been such a huge support to myself and whanau during the time we have been at Wee. A huge NGA MIHI to the teachers of Nido! Thank you for making the transition for myself and my son who has just started such an easy and comfortable process! I appreciate you all for caring, nurturing and educating my babies! I am confident to say that I absolutely recommend Wee Wisdom Montessori Drury! Nga Mihi Nui ki a kaiako ō Wee Wisdom Montessori he aroha mutunga kore!”
“Unfortunately we were sending our child here for nearly 2 years and I was advised my child has issues with eating. I took her to the GP and was advised there’s no issues as there was no issues at home or anywhere else apart from at school drop offs and school lunch time my child would throw up. Went on for a very long time and first I wasn’t notified by the school for a long while. When bringing the issue to their teachers and mangers attention it would stop for a while then start again. After seeing my child saying she’s afraid of a teacher and throw up because of this reason I changed her school urgently. It’s been a month and she’s never vomited at the new school. . Little sad how my child is small and could not express what was going on at school and you trust the teachers but obviously something was very wrong.”
“This is for late 2021 through to December 2022. I'm sorry to say I do not recommend Wee Wisdom Montessori. We hung in there thinking the issue was our child, but after finally changing centres and chatting to other parents who removed their children we realised it was not the children. They are since much happier and thriving since leaving. We do recommend Whaea Brooke, she genuinely cares about the children and is open and honest in her communication. 👏 We wanted to like this Centre because we believe in the Montessori philosophy.”
“As a teacher at Wee Wisdom for 4 and a half years I could say that we provide an authentic Montessori experience for all the children under our care. We encourage learning in a variety of ways which helps makes the child independent from a very young age. The teaching team is qualified and experienced and are great team players which works well for everyone. As a parent of two I enjoy having my children at We Wisdom Montessori. My eldest is 5 and will be going to Primary school early next year. She has been in the centre since she was 10 months and has acquired so much of life skills. She is energetic, loving, team player, out - going and most importantly strives to do everything by herself independently. She loves being engaged in practical life activities at school like washing a napkin/ sewing/ taking care of plants which makes it easier for her to help around at home without any issue as she believes it is already a part of her life. She is also quite good with her academic work which will be useful for her when she enters primary school. I am thankful to Wee Wisdom for providing the best life education for her so far. My youngest is just 9 months and started his journey at Wee Wisdom when he was just 5 months. The team was lovely and took care of him as he was their own. I invite parents/ whanau to come have a look at the school and to chat with team. After all don’t we all want the best for our children!”
