What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at The Grange Early Learning Centre, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Both of my children attended The Grange early learning centre in West Auckland and I cannot recommend this childcare enough. We love the various programmes like literacy, science, toddler, out and about, carpentry, sports and many others. We love the outdoor play area, the cleanliness, the amazing gifts for mothers day etc, the lovely teachers and manager, and the communication. What separates The Grange from other kindergartens is the stable staff and the extremely caring manager. I have worked for the manager before at a two previous centres. She creates a really fun and friendly environment. She's always there to help us with anything that we need (even personal matters). She truly cares about her team. When she left to purchase The Grange, many teachers followed her there from both of her previous centres (with several teachers that are still waiting to join her). Her reputation in the ECE community is having long term, stable and happy staff.”
“I have had multiple children attend The Grange early learning centre over the past eight years. In the past five years I have noticed a lot of new resources, new programmes and learning activities. This childcare stands out from the rest due to their amazing teachers many of which have been there for a very long time. The centre has been a home away from home for my family. Thank you for being the best childcare out West!!”
“Amazing outdoor environment with multi level gardens where children are free to run and explore. Ideal for kids that love physical activity Kids don’t get bored inside as there is lots of variety in the toys available. Long term stable staff are warm and welcoming and my grandson loves them. Highly recommend this centre. Thank you to an amazing team!”
“I have been very happy with the care that The Grange provides for my child. I was recommended this childcare by a friend and I am so glad that I moved my daughter here. Even though I don't live in Sunnyvale, I make the drive to the daycare everyday because of the excellent care the teachers provide. Communication with the manager and the teachers is excellent - I know that information will be passed on and I don't need to chase anything up. What attracted me to this daycare was the programmes they provide. My daughter is going to school next year, so her preparing for school was a big deal to me. The 'before school programme' they have is great and my daughter is already learning so much. I especially love the 'Out & About' they do where they walk to the local parks every week so the children can play - it's the highlight of my daughter's week! I have recommended this childcare many times to my friends and I will continue to recommend it, even when my daughter goes to school and no longer attends.”
“My son has been a student at The Grange for almost a year and he absolutely loves going to daycare. He even asks to go on the weekends. The outdoor space is one of the highlights for me, as my son loves being in contact with nature and moving around. The teachers are very lovely and easy to talk to. I have felt safe leaving my little boy there since the first day.”
