About MiniDale Explorers
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at MiniDale Explorers, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“My daughter has just graduated, and has been there since she was 6 months, we have absolutely loved her time there, such amazing and caring teachers and my daughter has truely loved her time there. We have many special memories from the past five years, and will always be grateful for the love and care given to my daughter! Highly recommend Sonya, Nicole and the team there xx”
“Our daughter is/was there on Mondays and Tuesdays, starting in the 1-2yr old room and now on the 2-3.5, and we've had an awesome time there so far. No bad experiences with any of the teachers, the kids or anything. The teachers are so kind, caring and down to earth! They very clearly know each child well and so treat every kid like an individual person with their own needs and ways of learning! Would highly recommend 😊”
“We didn’t really like it due to all the people who looked for kids in Mini Explorers sector!”
“Been great care for my girl. Very educational and loving teachers”
