What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at The Salvation Army Early Childhood Education Centre, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“We’ve had both our two boys here, would recommend to anyone! We’ve been part of a few different centres now as we’ve moved cities and this has definitely been the best. The best teachers who really care, take time, put in lots of effort (special days like baking, sports day, pajama day etc happen all the time!). They really put lots of work in special days like Easter and Christmas too - basically the kids have a rolling “best day ever”. Great facilities that are pretty newly renovated, they rotate everything around regularly keeping it fresh and exciting. Amazing food, with a beautiful “homemaker” (cook) who makes sure they eat even better than at home 😁 Lots of regular updates on Storypark with pictures and good communication during the day as needed.”
“Honestly , this place is a hidden gem! Our girls go here even though we’ve moved to the other side of Auckland. Their teachers are amazing; super attentive, kind and supportive. They also have great ratios. The management team is also excellent. All are great communicators, you always know what’s happening. They also had extensive renovations done so there’s a brand new playground and lots of new sensory and educational toys. 1000% recommend”
