About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at The Park Early Education Centre, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“This review is in no way a reflection of the wonderful carers here but the way that this organization is run. We retracted our previous review, as The Parks continued actions have made it clear the way their organization chooses to deal with parents who bring concerns to their attention, rendering any remarks pointless. The Park has focused a lot of energy into having other parents place positive reviews about the facility after we posted about our experience. Had management here put half this kind of energy into reaching out and showed our family some compassion, the outcome may have been very different. Especially as we were forgiving and understanding when all of this happened but we were made to feel as though we were wrong and put through further stress for addressing what had happened to our son while under The Parks care. There are always three sides to every story but we were surprised at how The Park and Waikato Kindergarten Association chose to handle things. We thought we’d receive a more mature and professional response considering the type of industry and how large this organization is. We felt further disregarded when The Park insisted they keep the money they received while our son was not in their care because they required a two week notice fee. Please do better and be kind because you never know what others are going through. No one deserves to be treated this way and our voiceless children should be treated with dignity.”
“Both of our children attended The Park Early Education Centre over eight years and we could not fault the centre. Our children thrived, staff were supportive and respectful, the environment was always clean. Our children to this day still have great memories of their time at the centre. I would not hesitate in recommending The Park.”
“Our Son Jackson attended The Park daycare from 6 months old till 5yrs old, so we got a good feel of what the centre is about. Jackson was so loved and well looked after, he learned so much and had tonnes of fun every day and they even had a farewell for him when he was ready for school. We feel so lucky to have found this place and the lovely people who work there. We have zero hesitation in recommending The Park Early Education Waikato”
“We honestly couldn’t be happier with the care that we get here for our son. He has been there now for over a year and across two of the rooms at the centre (Koru and Tawa). He was at another centre previously and would have an absolute melt down every time he was dropped off. We just thought it was normal, until we started at The Park! I now hardly even get a good bye when dropping him off! All the Kaiako at the centre have been great to deal with. They know his quirks, and greet us by name every time we come in. Special dietary needs (as he was dairy intolerant) are all catered for, and they work to make sure there is good variety and monitor their actual eating, even for this fussy fella! There are activities nearly every day that help develop his motor skills, but also life skills! At just over 2 years-old now, his new favourite activity is to ‘I Cook’ and set up at the kitchen counter every dinner time to help get the family meals sorted. They also have access to a local play ground and large greens behind the facility (hence The Park) that they regularly go on excursions with the kids out in their Centre Sun Hats, and always provide notifications via the facilities app when they are heading out, a much appreciated update. We get some of the most amazing stories about his daily adventures through the app, and my family overseas are all signed up so they can stay up to date with how he is developing. So in summary, their waiting list to get in speaks volumes to the service they provide. Thank you to all of staff that that help care for him every day!”
“My family have had a long relationship with The Park Early Education Centre which spanned over 9years, with my daughter and son both thriving under their care and education. The Park was a home away from home for my children … they had the best start to their learning journeys with attentive, supportive teachers who took the time to get to know our family. My children experienced an environment of respect, aroha and lots and lots of laughs. We will be forever be grateful to The Park, and my children often talk about the relationships they formed through their ECE years.”
