About Little Discoverers
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Little Discoverers, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Keep up the good work mum and dad”
“Both of my kids have attended (one child non verbal autistic) and the team at Little Discoverers have been nothing but supportive and loving to them both until they left to start their school journeys. Could not recommend more highly.”
“Little Discoverers have gone above and beyond for my whānau and our little one more than I can count. My daughter is one of the younger children and the teachers have been nothing but caring, attentive and dedicated to her well being - while doing the same for all the other children. She settled in so quickly, and I believe that’s reflective of the genuine attention and care the teachers display. They are receptive and responsive to whānau needs, and give regular updates of the tamariki through storypark. The leadership is competent and grounded, and the staff are all equally invested in the children, no matter which room they are in. I will be so sad when my girl leaves the centre!”
“The experience is so great, they look after my granddaughter with so much love, and extended her interest. Not only that they have an actual love for what they do. Amazing centre and teachers ❣️”
