About Rainbow Kids Childcare
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Rainbow Kids Childcare, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Both of our children have been through Rainbow Kids Childcare, and we’ve had a great experience. We really like the structured approach with the coloured rooms — it made it easy to see their progression as they grew. The team were always caring and communicative, and we especially appreciated the Storypark updates that gave us a window into what our children were doing throughout the week. Highly recommend this centre to any family looking for a nurturing, well-organised environment.”
“Rainbow kids was an amazing childcare centre to be a part of. We had 2 kids attend, progressing through each of the rooms until they started school - our youngest has just left. We wouldn’t hesitate at all to recommend the centre to people who are looking for a centrally located, safe, family oriented and welcoming daycare”
“My girls absolutely loved their time at Rainbow Kids! The staff are warm, caring, and truly go the extra mile to create a fun, safe, and engaging environment. Every day they came home excited to share what they learned and the friends they made. I’m so thankful for the positive experience they had—it’s clear that the team at Rainbow Kids genuinely cares about each child. Highly recommend!”
“The most amazing daycare centre! Would recommend to everyone! My daughter had the best time, she absolutely loved her kaiako and made so many friends! I loved seeing her personality grow at rainbow kids and how much they helped her build in her confidence and skills. Will always cherish my daughter’s experience here!”
“Our 5 year old recently graduated Rainbow Kids and had been attending since she was 13 months old. We found the centre warm and nurturing as our daughter progressed through each of the rooms, and made some great little friends along the way. We enjoyed the convenience of having meals and nappies provided, and found staff regularly communicated and included us in our girl’s various activities and learning goals. Our new baby daughter will attend next year and we look forward to the same high quality care and attention being given to her.”
