What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Pascals St Johns, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Our son has attended Pascals for a short 7 months since he was 1.5 years old, and we have seen him flourish at this lovely establishment. The teachers and staff are incredibly caring and have always taken the extra effort to make sure your child is well and happy. Our son has made so many friends, gained lots of confidence and new skills, and his vocabulary exploded once he settled in the Tui room. It's been amazing to see our son grow into an amazing little boy, and credit is due to the wonderful teachers and staff at Pascals.”
“The centre is very well organized and has such a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are kind, caring, and attentive, and my baby always enjoys his time there. I also appreciate that the daycare isn’t overcrowded — every child gets plenty of attention and care. Truly grateful for the wonderful team and their dedication! # Pascals St Johns# Kiwi Room#”
“My baby started his first learning journey at Pascals St Johns, and he absolutely loved it! The teachers and all the staff are so kind, friendly, and welcoming. He was in the Kiwi Room from 6 months to 1 year, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to his early learning. Unfortunately, we had to relocate from St Johns, but both my baby and I still miss Pascals so much. It truly felt like a second home — I often find myself wishing we could go back!”
“Our son attended Pascal’s St Johns for 20 months, and we couldn't be more grateful for the care and love he received especially since the arrival of the new manager, who has brought such positive change to the centre. The environment is nurturing, creative, and full of happy kids. He made wonderful friends, and the permanent educators are truly kind and dedicated. Thank you for giving our boy such a great start!”
“Pascals was a wonderful place for our boy to start daycare. The staff are dedicated and kind. They feed the kids lovely food. The centre itself is clean and well kitted out. Sadly we’re leaving Auckland otherwise we’d be staying at Pascals. We will miss the team, especially in the kiwi room 🤍 highly recommend anybody interested in daycare to have a look at Pascals and meet the team.”
