What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Parnell Early Childhood Centre, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Can’t speak highly enough of this wonderful daycare and the teaching staff. The head teacher Kanika is fantastic. My son started here at 11 months old and the teachers were so amazing at helping us settle in, and got to know him so quickly - it was evident he loved them all. They taught him so much, really encouraged independence and I loved getting regular updates through their digital platform Educa. I also felt reassured he was getting at least one really good healthy meal a day (toddlers are often fussier at home). We sadly had to move as left the area but I would not hesitate to highly recommend this daycare and lovely to not be part of a big chain but embedded in the community. They also hosted quite a few parent events so liked getting to know the whole childcare ecosystem and other kids and parents.”
“Visited with a friend. Lovely to see everyone happy having fun.lovely staff”
“PECC is definitely a home away from home for my little one. It may seem less flashy than many new daycares out there, but the center has certainly nailed down on what it needs to provide a wonderful caring environment that nurtures the kids into happy and confident little people. My son started his daycare when he was 11 months old, and from then on he has come a long way, learning new words, being more socially engaging, playing with other kids and learning to share - all of these are the good habits that have been inculcated at his daycare. As a mother who had to join back to her job, I felt comfortable leaving my little one with his teachers for a full day, knowing that he will be well looked after. Also, my son loved the food at PECC, which follows Healthy Heart guidelines and is prepared at the center. The teachers at the center are very engaged with the children and realize that every kid is different and provide them with care and activities appropriate to their needs. I definitely recommend this daycare to anyone who is looking for a healthy, happy environment for their little one.”
