What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Nurture Early Learning - Onehunga, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“We have been part of the Nurture whānau for over 6 years, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care and support my children have received here. The teachers are warm, attentive, and genuinely responsive to the cultural backgrounds of all tamariki. The curriculum is innovative and engaging, always tailored to the diverse needs of the children, which has made my kids love going to school every single day. One of the many things I appreciate is the kai provided — it’s healthy, delicious, and such a blessing not having to worry about packing lunches! Nurture truly is a place where children thrive, families feel welcomed, and culture is celebrated. Highly recommend.”
“I am very happy with Nurture Early Learning Centre. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the learning environments are well set up for children to explore and grow. The food is freshly prepared, and I really appreciate the caring and loving teachers who make the centre feel like a second home. That’s why I chose this centre for my newborn, and I feel confident she is in safe and nurturing hands.”

She’s love”s the centre and everyone in it! My girl has special needs having ASD. And the support we have received is and could only be described as exceptional. As far as I'm concerned this is the best centre out there the playground and Staff are awesome. Best place ever my girl loves it! And I feel blessed seeing her so happy and keen to go to kindergarten and learn. Thank you to all the management and staff you are all Stars!!! 😁”
“Our son has been attending Nurture since he was 5.5 months, as a parent I couldn't have asked for a better centre than Nurture. The reason I am writing this review today is that my parents arrived here in NZ and met my son for the 1st time and all my son could talk to them was about Nurture and the teachers. My parents went to pick up my son and as soon as they met the teachers they were very happy and excited as they knew their names and could tell how much my son talks about them. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for heartfelt care and nurturing at an early age.”
