About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Nurture and Grow Early Learning Centre, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“My child started here at 11 months old at the start of 2023. She stayed for over a year. I witnessed boys on numerous occasions playing rough and hitting each other aswell as my child in front of me in an area no staff were present or able to see them as I dropped my child off. As soon as I found out she was the only girl in amongst a group of rough boys I pulled her out and sent her elsewhere. The hours weren’t flexible like other daycares. Was pressured into increasing her days.”
“We cannot recommend Bay Buddies any higher, they are certainly worth more than five stars. The time and care they show the children is exactly what you hope for it to be. We will be forever grateful for you guys!”
“I definitely recommend Bay Buddies Montessori to other families and also proud to be the part of this family. Trina, the centre manager is lovely, kind and tries to accommodate our needs at all times. The teachers are attentive to individual needs and provide a nurturing space for children to thrive. The Bay Buddies approach allows children to choose activities based on their interests and abilities, fostering a deep sense of ownership over their learning.”
“My son Rico started at Bay buddies at about 8months old , such a fantastic daycare I highly recommend this childcare centre. To the lovely & caring ladies who helped care for my son during his time there I appreciate you’s all & we were sad to leave Napier as he had settled in nicely there. As I could see his progress through the stories you’s shared was most helpful & insightful to know some of the things he was involved in was really good to see thankyou all .”
