About Education & Care Service

Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.

What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?

20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Nature's Wonder, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

“We have loved our experience with Nature's Wonder ECE. Both our kids have loved it there from the start - the teachers are so warm and welcoming and go the extra mile to make sure we know how our kids are doing when they are there. The transition period was easy and they went above and beyond to make sure both us nervous parents and our kids entering the centre felt comfortable and supported. There are so many fun activities outside the general centre, and getting outside and playing in nature is a key part of their mission, which is great for the kids. So happy to be part of the Nature's family.”

“We enrolled our son into Nature's Wonder at 5.5 months old. As you can probably imagine, being first time parents, we had our reservations about alternative childcare in general but unfortunately, like many, we didn't have the luxury of me staying home full time to care for him. The whole team and process at Nature's Wonder put our minds at ease right away and it didn't take long for our son to start thriving in their care. We are beyond grateful for this experience. It also helped my return to full time work be a smooth and happier transition. The team are supportive, respectful, caring, fun, we're always well informed, made feel like part of the NW family, and my son thoroughly enjoys his time there. We are expecting a baby girl soon, and we had no hesitation enrolling her to start next year at Nature's Wonder at the same age that our son started. We look forward to the transition this time, knowing our children receive as much care, love, support and encouragement as they do at home with us. We have and will continue to recommend Nature's Wonder to anyone looking for quality daycare for their children.”
