About Magicland Childcare
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Magicland Childcare, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“My daughter (3) has been attending Magicland for over 3 months now and honestly this place is amazing. Not only do they keep you updated with storypark and provide beautiful photos. They update you at the end of each day how your child is doing ask if you've made any changes listen if you ask them to start doing something. They were amazing to help me work around my work roster. Super friendly kind team. She comes home everyday having learnt something new. I feel at peace every day leaving my daughter with such a beautiful team knowing she's safe happy and fed.”
“The environment is so clean and inviting. Amazing teachers very caring”
“My son under 3 was attending this daycare. He started to report assaults by a group of older children, showing how the assaults were occurring. After reporting this to the team, two teachers manipulated a serious situation of aggression, to be identified as an accident. My son was struck on the head, on top of a tall toy, was hit on the side of the head and was left with a very swollen face and ear. Luckily he did not have a more serious trauma or damage. The owner was not receptive to my son's complaints, sought justifications and covered the situation by not showing professionalism and commitment to my son's safety. We know that these things happen among children but a professional team needs to guide and care for the healthy environment of children and especially for the safety of small children, my son was less than 3 years old. Also, there are teachers without qualification and knowledge, many children for few employees, risk situations and staff without commitment to the safety. Would not recommend.”
“I visited many centers with my two children before settled at magicland Childcare. The single biggest thing that made me click was their open door policy, unlike many other centers, I was able to spend time with my kids till they were able to wave bye bye to me confidently, without tears, my younger one was turning two and my older one was turning four when they first started. Technically they should have gone to separate rooms, but owner made exception to help the process. So they were able to spend lots of time playing together and it built confidence for them both. Now they still play together and also have their own friends. I changed their sessions a few times and the owner and teachers are experienced and approachable and willing to adapt to my needs. I have come across some highly qualified professionals in the ECE field but when you want someone who is ready to listen and help, there aren't many out there, and here is one of the few.”
“the service is definitely improving in the last few weeks.keep up.”
