About Lilliput Preschool
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Lilliput Preschool, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“We love Lilliput! The great ratios helped our little one get settled in quickly, and the teachers feel like family. The centre is a renovated house, which gives it a homely feel. The outdoor play areas are great, and lots of time is spent outside exploring. Nothing has ever felt like too much to ask, Lisa and the staff are always very accommodating. Our daughter loves attending and can’t wait to get out the door on daycare days.”
“My children have joined the centre recently. They came highly recommend by ministry of education due to the approach they take with children with extra learning needs. Speech and Language, Autistic, Sensory Seekers. Both my children are enjoying the environment that offers more 1:1 when needed and plenty of time for connection and building realationships. They have sensory rooms inside which helps regulate busy minds also working on a space for outside in near future, the teachers keep kids busy with gardening, baking, changing the playground around, water play, painting, song and dance, reading, making jewelry, painting and much more!! They are clear with communications and have been very supportive with my childrens learning and development. Lilliput has a family friendly feel small number of children, great teacher ratios Well deserved review from a very happy mum and kids. Highly recommend. ❤️”
“Liliput's exceptional care, driven by friendly staff and personalized attention, made it worth continuing to commute to, even after our move.”
“My son was just over a year when he started Lilliput Preschool. From day dot he felt so comfortable with the teachers. The child to teacher ratio is amazing and I just know my child gets one on one attention when time allows. Their communication to parents is awesome and I always feel well informed with any events coming up or anything to do with my son. 10/10 could not praise them enough 👏🏻”
