About Kids Connect
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Kids Connect, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

“Our son goes to Kids Connect for more than a year now and we have always loved how the teachers treat him and every kid in the center with love and care. The new owner is very hands on, and has an approachable and warm personality. It’s obvious that everyone is passionate in what they do. My husband and I feel that the teachers has helped a lot in our son’s development especially in speaking as they focus on areas that every parent wishes their child needs progress on.”
“Our boy has been at Kids Connect for almost two years and his younger brother will be joining shortly. Convenient hours, a wide variety sugar-free menu, and the super kaiako are always keeping the tamariki busy and entertained while encouraging learning. With four age appropriate rooms and outside play areas, the focus is always on the children. Thank you team!”
