About Kerikeri Preschool
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Kerikeri Preschool, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“I've had both my two little ones join kerikeri preschool for one year now. My daughter was 4 years old wen she starting going and my baby was around 6months wen he started going aswell. Both kids had such a blast and have enjoyed their time at kerikeri preschool with all their new friends and lovely teachers who are beyond easy to talk to and deal with wen it comes to our tamariki. My daughter is now 5 and has recently joined primary school while my son still attends. He loves it more and more each and everytime he goes 💕.”
“Absolutely love this daycare for my children, they feel so comfortable with their teachers and enjoy every day there, very homely feeling. Great hours flexible. Highly recommend to anyone”
“Such a wonderful centre with a warm and welcoming family feel. Both my children have adored Kerikeri Preschool and it has helped them grow into confident and capable kids.”
“I love this place and so does my child. As an immigrant parents me and my wife deeply appreciate the staff being nice and caring, and the Director of Kerikeri Preschool really cares about the children and works with the parents. I’m grateful for their hours as well, really helps especially since not everyone works a 8-5 job. The facility is well thought of, rooms separated to keep the ages apart, but structured so that the teachers are able to help each other out. My son Kai is happy and that makes us a happy parents as well.”
“Kia ora whanau friends and family I would like to say that over the last few months that my son Panui Mullen Lawrence-Milner has been enjoying his daycare at Kerikeri PreSchool. The teachers are so heart warming, very kind to all the tamriki/children and it feels like being at home every time I walk into the whare/house. I give 5 star because when I walk into the centre all teachers are attending or being occupied with the children and so I would like to end this on a good high. Love it there and Panui does as well thanks Kerikeri PreSchool Team Kia kaha keep up the good mahi.”
