About Education & Care Service

Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.

What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?

20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Educare Two Rivers, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

“My son has been attending Two Rivers since he turned 1 year old. The staff have been amazing to deal with (for both myself & him) since I first contacted them. We were given lots of information, invited to do as many visits as needed for my boy to get comfortable with the teachers. He hadn't spent much time away from me before starting, so I was nervous - the teachers stepped up & made his transition easy, they took everything at his pace, and after a few weeks he was like "bye Mum" as soon as we arrived He LOVES daycare and his buddies and the carers. The staff are fantastic from a parents side, communication is always open, supportive and encouraging. All of the childrens interests are at the Heart of everything they do and it shows. I would recommend Two Rivers to anyone who wants a home away from home for their babies.”

“As a nervous first time mama returning to work I walked through the doors of Two Rivers and was put at ease INSTANTLY no question was silly and they accommodated as many visits as needed till baby ( let’s be honest me ) felt comfortable, that baby is now three years old and as been in each room of the centre and I can honestly say that all the staff are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely care about the well-being and development of each child. Thanks team for raising our little girl along side us ”
