About Education & Care Service

Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.

What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?

20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Crossroads Early Childhood Centre Trust, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

“After years of trying to find a kindy that will go the extra mile for my boys I finally found it having one of my boys with seizures. I was very worried of how kindy would look for my son. But all the staff at crossroads go over and beyond for my boys. There smooth transition into kindy is really nice both for your child and also for a peace of mind for yourself. I highly recommend crossroads ❤️”

“My tamariki has been attending CECC since he was 6 months old. I love how the centre gives a warm whanau vibe with the teachers so passionate about what they do. I don’t feel worried at all leaving my tamariki in the care of his teachers at CECC, who have become more like an extended family! The center is clean, spaced out and well decorated. The outdoor play area is great!too!”

“We love the Crossroads Early Childcare Centre. The teachers are truly amazing — warm, caring, and genuinely invested in our child’s development. You can really see how much they love what they do. We have found the child-to-teacher ratio here allows our child to get individualised support and really connect with the teachers. We’ve seen a huge growth in our child’s confidence, communication, and social skills since starting here. We would highly recommend the centre to anyone looking for a caring and nurturing place for their child.”

“My child has been with Crossroads for a couple months. I have seen a Massive change in their confidence and they are more cheerful. The staff genuinely care about the kids. They are updating daily me about what is happening with my Tamaiti. They also update me on their learning plan aswell. Low ratio of kids to staff makes it easier for staff and kids to spend time together. The staff at Crossroads are top tier. The atmosphere is quite calming to come into for a daycare. It's clean and tidy and the daycare is quite spaced out so it's not so cramped. I'm so glad that we stumbled across Crossroads Early Childhood Centre. It is a wonderful community for Whānau to be apart of. Where children are respected and cared for. Would 10/10 recommend if you are looking for a daycare in Palmy.”

“My kids have been coming to Crossroads Early childhood centre for over 2 years now and they absolutely love it. Its a warm, friendly, community and whānau based centre with great teacher to child ratios. I’ve seen my two kids grow in confidence and their personalities emerge as they have learnt and played here. I would highly recommend this centre to anyone considering it for their little one.”
