About Conifer Grove Kindergarten
About Free Kindergarten
Free Kindergartens typically offer sessional or part-day early learning programmes led by fully qualified teachers, following Te Whāriki and emphasising learning through play, social interaction, and community involvement. These centres cater to families seeking high-quality education in a not-for-profit, community-based setting with strong ties to local whānau.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Conifer Grove Kindergarten, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Conifer Grove Kindy was such an amazing place for my daughter to grow up in. The teachers are so lovely, attentive and genuinely care for the kids. My daughter was supported so well, her strengths were always highlighted, and she was guided through those areas where she needed more support. Further, the Kindy is very close knit, the kids have so much space, both indoors and outdoors to play and explore, and the teachers always have fun new crafts and play based learning activities planned, which my daughter always enjoyed. Finally, the whole community was supportive and it was the best stepping stone for my daughter to start school at Conifer Grove School. I cannot recommend Conifer Grove Kindy enough to any parent who would love a safe, supportive early childhood learning centre for their child.”
“Beautiful space with beautiful teachers. My son was so happy here. The teachers are amazing and helped nurture and grow him into the amazing little boy he is now. Cannot say enough how wonderful it is. 100% recommend it if you're looking for care.”
“My son started there June/21 when he just turned 2yo. As working parents we feel in peace when we found a place that take our kids with so much love and kindness. It's his second home and every teacher there is amazingly good. We're all lucky to have a place like this in the Grove ❤️”
“My 2-year old son started attending Conifer Grove Kindergarten in March 2022 as we are both working parents and it was a bit challenging to work from home and look after a toddler. We couldn’t be happier with our Kindy choice! Such a great Kindy with wonderful teachers and amazing facilities! The bonus for us was that we could be very flexible with hours and the teachers were also very accommodating with providing naps for my son. I could see the growth and learning every day at home and also love watching photos from storypark that teachers were sharing during the day. It’s a relief to me as a mother to know that when I drop him off every morning-he will be well taken care of. It is an amazing place and my son didn’t want to leave at pick up and that says a lot! Once again thank you lovely ladies and we will miss you.”
