What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at BestStart Rototuna, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Very welcoming. Boy and my baby girl love it here. Awesome people, kids settled in easy family like environment and staff very helpful. thanks heaps.”
“All four of our children have attended this centre and we love the beautiful large outdoor environments. The natural homelike feel is great. Thank you to all the teacher's for doing such a great job.”
“I highly recommend Beststart Rototuna. From the first time we visited there (a few months before our daughter was born) we have been made to feel welcome and part of the family. Our daughter attends ever day from early morning to late evening and cannot get enough of this place-it’s a struggle to get her to leave when I go to collect her each day. Teachers work closely with family to set development goals for the child and work tirelessly to make sure they are met, while continually keeping parents updated along the way via Storypark, parent meetings, etc. All staff go above and beyond to organise regular activities that are lots of fun and ensure all cultures and traditions are celebrated.”
“We could not be more happy with Beststart Rototuna. From day 1 we have been made to feel welcomed. The staff are highly communicative immensely helpful and informative. Our daughter I'd thriving in the center and is always excited to go make the most of the fabulous resources and outside play spaces. As parents, we love being kept updated with what's going on, and knowing our child is well cared for, with the most amazing teacher, admin staff and cook. We also love seeing activities on story park and being able to shear them with the grandparents is wonderful. Highly recommend!”
“Our three kids went here and it is a great daycare centre. The outdoor play area is way better than most other centres in the area and outdoor play is highly encouraged. The staff are very friendly and are great with the kids. One minor ciriticism is that often the teacher assistants don't wear uniforms or name badges like the teachers so you don't always know if they are staff or another parent. Overall ABC is a great place for child care.”
