What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Tiny Voices Wellington, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“My only regret is not having experienced such a quality preschool when I was a kid. The whole staff is excellent with kids: friendly, listening, supportive, nurturing, patient, and genuinely caring. Their playground is great: despite being located inside a building right in Wellington's city centre, their outdoor area is *huge*, with a sandpit, climbing platforms, bicycles with roads, and whatnot. They have a ton of activities: playing with water, cooking cakes, painting, playdough, trips to other places nearby, celebrating all sort of events, and I miss some. They even invited an illustrator of children's books and loaned a bouncing castle recently! And more goodies: lunch and snacks are provided, tons of photos/stories are shared each week, the child's daily routine is shared on their website in real time, there's plenty of diversity, and last but not least, they follow the Reggio Emilia approach, which is similar to Montessori's, but with a focus on collaborative learning instead of independent learning. I mean, you'd be hard-pressed to find any photo where kids are not having a good time—in fact, it's not always easy to bring our daughter back home, and she keeps repeating her caregivers' names, which I think says it all.”
“Simply the best pre-school. Thank you to the awesome team!”
“Centrally located in the city and very convenient for working parents who works in the city. Great space for the kids, clean, bright and spacious and a great outdoor area. You will be welcome with the lovely Sarah at the reception and a team of wonderful teachers who's very supportive, accommodating and friendly. They also have weekly excursions either to the city, museum or to the library. Lots of activities for the kids to develop new skills and celebrations for special occasions for example Matariki Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day. Parents are invited too :)”
“These guys are amazing, the level of attention and individual care they have given our son has been unbelievable. This place is so much better than other daycares we've sent our children to, not exaggerating. They really listen to our concerns, and address them! Our child needed extra care/attention and they more than delivered. We get so many great weekly photos and updates on the app. Everyone is friendly and knowledgable. The outdoor space is incredible! Don't be turned off by this place being in the city, the space is so much better than all the other daycares we went to in the suburbs. The activities the kids do are really lovely. And the food is great. The interior is clean and secure. There's parking available for drop off. I can't recommend them enough!”
