About Rivercity Preschool
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Rivercity Preschool, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Rivercity was awesome for my Daughter, She came right out of her shell and loved helping out the teachers. She grew to love the outdoors and snails. I am forever thankful for the teachers that helped my daughter as she was quite quiet but once she felt comfortable with her teacher she would have a great chat. Thank you Rivercity team :D”
“The teachers at Juni Uni are AMAZING!!! All fully qualified (which I prefer over in-home based), you can tell how passionate and caring they are about the children. I trust them wholeheartedly with my daughter, and her language development and social skills have dramatically improved since attending here. They have an excellent teacher-to-child ratio and a fantastic philosophy on early childhood development. I highly highly recommend Juni Uni!! The fact they take from age two and offer 30 hours FREE is a massive bonus too 🥰”
