About Richmond Preschool
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Richmond Preschool, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Amazing preschool with caring nurturing teachers. My daughter loves going here and always talks about all the fun things they are doing and learning about. I always feel incredibly welcome and part of the family. Highly recommend this preschool to anyone looking for a great friendly and safe environment for your child.”
“From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and confident that our son would be in good hands. The teachers are incredibly nurturing, patient, and dedicated—not only to each child’s learning but to their emotional well-being too. Our son blossomed during his time here. He gained confidence, made great friends, and learned so much through creative play, structured activities, and a curriculum that truly fosters a love of learning. The communication with parents was consistent and thoughtful, and we always felt involved and informed. Most importantly, our son looked forward to going to preschool every single day. That, to us, speaks volumes. We’re so grateful to have found such a positive and enriching environment for his early education. Highly recommend!”
“Highly recommended. Stacy and her team is really friendly, supportive and patient. They help our two and half year old daughter to get settled in the preschool after having a bumpy start. All credit goes to the lovely staff.”
