What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Precious Pipis Childcare Brixton Road, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“We couldn’t be happier with Precious Pipis! The teachers are so kind, nurturing, and dedicated. Our little man absolutely loves going. He talks about his friends, and the fun activities they do every day, particularly about his adventures in the sandpit 😅 if there is copious amounts of sand in his shoes, I know his day was EPIC 😂 The centre has such a warm, welcoming vibe, and the communication with families is fantastic. It’s clear that the staff go above and beyond to create a safe, engaging environment where our kiddos can thrive. Pipis is such a special place, and we are so lucky to be part of this tight knit fam 🌸”
“great kindy”
“A well run well resourced small centre. The teachers are caring and attentive, the whole family feels welcome when we do drop offs and pick ups. A lot of opportunities for messy and creative play. Regular updates and photos. Children spend a lot of time outdoors. Unfortunately, winter bugs are very common among under twos but that’s the case in all centres, especially post-covid.”
“We have had our kids in a couple of centres and viewed 8 centres when we moved up to the Coast…and this one is hands down the best. The team are amazing, the amount of effort they put into the kids learning and development is next level. Our kids love going to Pipis and look forward to it from when they wake up in the morning. Massive bonus that it’s a small centre so it feels like whanau and also the sickness’s aren’t as prolific as being in a big centre!”
“Precious Pipis is like no other, I viewed a few local centres and this one stood out the most. Our son Finn absolutely LOVES Pipis, the teachers and environment and this morning and drop off said “we’re home! Pipis is like my home mummy” and that’s all we want as parents when leaving our child with others.”
