About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Ōtaki Montessori Preschool, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“AMAZING centre. Super friendly teachers who my daughter talks about all the time. We trialled a bunch of places and she never seemed to like them but was fine there straight away! She is constantly coming out with all these new things she has learnt and keeps asking to go back!! Would highly recommend.”
“Montessori has been a awesome place to discover. My daughter attended a different centre to start with but found it wasn't the right place for her. I was abit afraid to put her in Montessori to tell the truth because I thought she wouldn't like the structure. Boy was I wrong. She loves the structure, the activities, the work, the children and the teachers. At the previous centre I could not leave her there alone, she would cry and cry. Surprisingly she stayed by herself at Montessori the first time and they helped her a lot with that. Great learning environment. Teachers give feedback. What are you waiting for! Just check it out.”
