About My Kindy Kelston
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at My Kindy Kelston, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

“I was recommended PLG from a friend and both my kids (3yr and 1yr) started during the red light system of COVID. The communication from the centre has always been great and transparent. The staff/teachers are all so wonderful and very approachable.”
“i would say i trust my family with this team who is really friendly and professional. we had a good bond with them and my daughter and us still missing them. i would say a lot of qualities they possessed like reliable, approachable, understandable etc . i strongly recommend any parents who needs help with their kids to go to play learn grow bcos they are the best in west plus the name says it all obviously”
“I enrolled my children at the start of 2021. I was a clingy mum who struggled to find a centre that I trusted. 10 minutes into our first visit I was set on enrolling at Play Learn Grow. Straight away we felt welcomed and at ease. During our very first visits the teachers immediately engaged with our children and made a huge effort to make them feel comfortable. They also made huge efforts in forming relationships with us whanau. The teachers felt like our aunties, and made the environment feel like a whanau, like home. The enrolment process was super straight forward, the school is transparent and we’ve never had any problems. Our children’s development/confidence since starting at the centre has sky rocketed. I would highly recommend Play Learn Grow to anyone and everyone looking for a centre. ⭐️💫🌟✨⭐️ 5 stars!”
“I transferred my two kids from their previous daycare to Play Learn Grow early last year and it's the best decision I could have made for them. I love the team and you can tell that they really care about the kids and the values of the centre. The activites and communication they have provided during the various lockdowns have been incredible. I highly recommend.”
