What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Moriah (Private) Kindergarten Inc, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“My little girl has just graduated from Moriah Kindergarten and I can honestly say that it is such a special place. It is warm, inviting and filled with special rituals and traditions which made it such a lovely experience for my daughter, my husband and me! Despite not being Jewish, I feel my daughter has an appreciation for special traditions and an exposure to Hebrew which we would not have had otherwise. Moriah is embracing of other cultures, celebrations and languages which is reflected by the diversity of its children. Moriah also has a deep respect for the environment, being an enviroschool kindergarten. A particularly special aspect of Moriah is its preparation for school for the four-year-olds, known as 'shoshi' time. I feel my little girl deeply benefitted from this in the lead up to her starting school. I am forever grateful that Moriah was suggested to us as an option for my daughter's early year education.”
“My little one has just graduated from Moriah kindergarten and I can say hand on heart it has been the most wonderful experience for both of us. It’s an amazing community of teaches and parents who are focused on supporting your little one in the learning and growing. I’m so thankful Moriah was suggested to me.”
“Moriah is a fantastic kindergarten. The teacher-pupil ratio is great. I love how my kid is exposed to different languages and cultures. I am not Jewish but I'd love my kid to experience a multicultural environment. Last but not least I love the fact that my kid is given a progress book and her stories are updated on a mobile app.”
“Both our children went to Moriah and it has been a fantastic place for them to learn and grow and a great preparation for school. Neither my wife nor I are Jewish, or religious at all; our reasons to send our children to this kindergarten were the tremendous Staff / Student ratios and the reports we had from other parents. Moriah is very much part of the Jewish Community in Wellington, and both my wife and I (let alone our two children!) have learned a great deal about Jewish culture including events and Hebrew language as a part of this experience; which absolutely has been something which we have enjoyed as part of this journey. The standard of care for our tamariki has been magnificent, they have both thrived in this environment, in spite of them being two very different children. My daughter who is now 9 has fond memories of Moriah and would take every opportunity to visit her old kindy and talk to her old teachers while her younger brother attended. I trust and would recommend Moriah as a kindergarten to any parent living in Wellington”
