About Education & Care Service

Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.

What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?

20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Lovely Lotus Childcare, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

“Such a friendly, welcoming and warm daycare. Our child absolutely loves the nursery side. The teachers are all great too. All attentive, whilst giving the kids space to explore and be kids. I love this daycare so much and couldn't recommend it enough.”

“Be aware before joining Our family has recently moved down from AKL, we first choose this daycare because the location: it is very close from our house. On 3rd day of our first week, I received invoice demanding a payment of $600 with a due date within 2 days, no description on invoice. We haven't even finished our first week with you! I emailed owner immediately asking for an explanation, according to her, the agreement stats we require to make payments two weeks in advance. ( I visited 10+ daycares in AKL and never seen any daycare operating like this) I then went through entire agreement could not see anywhere mentioning "two weeks in advance". The owner then goes," it's fine if you pay weekly". Two weeks after the initial fresh period, my son started to cry and refuse to go every single morning. He started even refuse to get up and get dressed, his happy face was since disappeared, as soon as he saw the house, he started to cry badly. My son started daycare since he was 1, he was very bright and active wee boy, we changed quite few around our area in AKL, and I never seen him crying like this. He is always excited to go and happy to get involved with various activities even helps out the teachers and carry things for them. Thus we left lovely lotus after a month and he is super happy now! This is the 3rd week we starting with the new one, I noticed he already feel involved, and build relationship with teachers. He also developed some very good habits. His happy face comes back again. We made the right decision to leave Lovely lotus, the very few ECE teachers here fail to effectively communicate with my son (he is only 2.5 years old, Keep saying" no you shouldn't do this or that like a "teacher" won't work, but hurting him. he is new to this environment, you failed to build trust and relationship with him in the initial critical period) For the entire month, I haven't received a single photo or learning update about my son on the APP they are using. Spare clothes in my son's bag never been used. This shows how lazy the staff are. I don't mind pay $200/week to you, but for this kind of service we have received. Overall it's terrible experience for my son, and made me very stressful at work. Not recommended at all. One 🌟 for the convenience of location.”
