About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Lollipops Millennium, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Our daughter attended Lollipops Millennium, and I want to make it clear that the teachers and day-to-day staff were really good. They cared for our child well, and we were happy during her time there. We resigned from the centre normally, without any issues at all. However, one year later, the management contacted us demanding $574.82, claiming we owed money because WINZ had overpaid them. When we asked for proper evidence, they suddenly changed the amount and reduced it to $287.41. This inconsistency alone raised concerns. What makes this situation unacceptable is that the centre admitted in writing that they failed to inform WINZ when our daughter turned 3,which is fully their responsibility, not the parents. The administrator Maryeta and previous manager Anita were involved in this. Instead of taking responsibility, they pressured us for payment almost a year later and even mentioned their own discount as if that was something parents should repay. This behaviour feels extremely unprofessional and unfair. Again, the teachers and the care were good.this review is specifically about the management and how they handled this situation. We paid all our fees promptly while our daughter was enrolled. For the centre to contact us a year later demanding money for their own error and then change the amount is not acceptable. If any parent wants proof, emails, documents, or their written admission, I am happy to provide it. Parents deserve transparency, consistency, and honesty from management, not this experience.”
“As a new mother I was told not to trust the big franchises as they do not have a quality of care. After having my child attend 2 different big branded daycares I almost believed them. That’s until I started my son here. Millennium Ellerslie has shown the upmost support and care for my child. He has severe eczema and allergies to wheat and egg and they’ve accommodated his needs and wellbeing without excluding him or singling him out. They’re honest go above and beyond. They’re honest, respectful and caring and my husband and I rave about how pleased we are with this centre. The teachers and staff are amazing and my son always feels welcome and happy when we arrive and leave. Thank you all for your patience and professionalism.”
“I couldn't have asked for a better daycare, teachers were wonderful at every age and stage. Teachers show genuine care for children and are responsive to children's needs. They endeavour to cultivate children's growth and interests within a caring environment. Communication with the daycare is open and clear. Other children attending were lovely also and played well with each other. It was like my daughter's home away from home. Now that my daughter has started primary school, we still drop by to visit her friends and teachers. I feel this daycare has contributed very positively to my daughter's foundational years. Thank you Lollipops Millennium :-)”
“We have been with Lollipops in Ellerslie for almost 8 years - both of our children attended Loliipops and little one has only couple of months to go. All the teachers are very passionate and caring and always come up with creative ways to keep children engaged and learning. We have always felt like a family with Lollipops team. The location is great, ample indoor and outdoor space, good food and top most care is provided to children.”
“We recently moved to Auckland, Ellerslie area. We explored all most all pre-schools in this area and finally decided to put our daughter in Lollipops. So far so good. She just loves going to school every day. Extremely caring staffs and super engaging activities for whole day. Being from different country, we are glad that our daughter got well settled in Lollipops just within 2 months. Fullest credit goes to all the caring staffs and beautiful kids in the school. I personally love dropping and picking my kid as I see many kids coming and talking, playing with me. It's a super cool moment! I highly recommend Lollipops to my friends and circle in Ellerslie Area. My best wishes to entire Team!!!”
