What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Little Wonders Childcare (Roslyn), it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“A few weeks ago, my family and I visited Little Wonders Roslyn because we wanted to enrol our under-2-year-old. At that time, the manager told us that the centre’s promotion (free fees until 6 February 2026) did not apply to children under 2. However, just today we found the promotion clearly written on their official website, and it specifically says “all age groups.” This means the information we were given earlier was incorrect. Since the promotion expires on 30 November, I visited again today to enrol my child, but this time I was told, “We are full.” No waiting list was offered, no clear explanation was given, and no apology for the incorrect information we were given earlier. This has been very disappointing. If the manager had given us the correct details when we first visited, we could have enrolled our child well within the promotion period. Instead, we were misinformed and then told there are no spaces at the last minute. Families rely on accurate information when choosing childcare, and this experience has made us lose trust in the centre’s communication and transparency. I hope the management improves the way they inform parents in the future so others don’t face the same issue.”
“Love how my children are cared for at Little Wonders Roslyn! They rush in every morning and generally there are tears at the other end of the day because they don’t want to go home. They love their Kaiako who support them so well in their learning interests! Highly recommend!”
“A great group of kaiako across all the age groups. They have helped our daughter develop into a confident, brave and emotionally intelligent child. So much aroha and appreciation for the team at Little Wonders Roslyn! Ka mau te wehi!”
“Caeli loves to go to daycare every morning and she loves everyone there. She is now out of her shell. She is no longer a quiet and very shy kid. Teachers are really friendly, helpful, creative and very involved with all children. Caeli always comes home with art/crafting projects. She now can count 1-10 and sing A-Z and she is under 3. Before she arrived at Little wonders, she was hardly speak. Just less than a year, you guys made her become a very happy and confident girl. Thank you very much. Even our family notice how happy she is since she is with Little wonders.”
“Little Wonders is a very caring centre offering a nurturing experience for children. Teachers are al;ways enthusiastic offering a multitude of experiences and activities for kids on a daily basis. There is always something new to do and always multiple activities to choose from so kids are stimulated and challenged. The new facility is purpose built and fantastic. Centre manager Kate has an open door policy and is always asking for parent input. I feel very comfortable knocking on her door anytime. Teachers sit with children while they sleep and offer them a quiet safe environment for getting the rest they need. My children love coming to Little Wonders and that speaks volumes in my mind!”
