What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. “From the time you are greeted by the receptionist with a welcoming hello and smile as with other staff in area to opening the door to daycare room, the teachers always greet you with a hello and smile. The children look up and say hi and smile.. what a happy environment for my grandson Chase to be amongst.. and it is repeated when I pick Chase up. Little People Sunnynook has a great vibe to it. Chase is always happy and looks forward every day to attend. Grandma is certainly happy knowing Chase is looked after when I am not there. Thankyou ❤️”
“We have had 2 of our children go through Little People Sunnynook and the only reason we are leaving is because we are moving out of Auckland. The teachers are great, our children have absolutely loved attending. Management are easy to talk to and prompt at communicating. Daily photo updates or frequent learning stories so we could see what our children were up to was comforting. Would definitely recommend this daycare to anyone that asked and we are going to miss this centre a lot!”

I love seeing the daily updates and the fun activities and play the children are involved in. The facilities are great—clean, spacious, and full of things for the kids to explore.
