About Education & Care Service

Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.

What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?

20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Kindy Kidz, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

“I just gave a recommendation to a friend for their daughter regarding Kindyz and it’s prompted a reminder to share a proper review- so here it goes! As first time parents, the thought of leaving our 6 month old baby with strangers was terrifying. From day one, the team at Kindyz made us feel completely at ease and they treated our son as if he was their own. Now he is heading into his final year before school, and we honestly could not have wished for a better start for him. We would not have trusted any of the other centres we viewed the way we trust Kindyz. Every single teacher has been kind, supportive and genuinely caring, not just of the children but of us parents too. A huge thank you to Heather, Sharee, Amy, Jane, Ashley, Maddie, Jemma, Tara, Nadine, Andy, Heidi, Sally, Louisa, Mikayla, Emily, Isabella, Dammie, Sarah, Kirsty, Ting, Andrea and Rachel 💕. We will always be grateful for the love, patience and guidance you have given him and us over these years. Highly recommend Kindyz to anyone looking for a place you can trust to send your precious little people.”

“I have been working with Kindy Kidz and Tweenz for nearly 2 years now and they've both been absolutely amazing. The teachers are so great at working with the children and teaching them so much about the world around them! The children I work with are some of the kindest, thoughtful and smartest children I know. I've been coaching them, and they've told me all about the matariki stars and named all the planets. Amazing!”

“My son started at Kindy Totz which was truly an amazing experience for him. The teachers were absolutely incredible and really understood him and supported him and us as a family. He progressed to Kindy Tweenz and Kindy Kidz and he is absolutely loving it. He always talks about everything he has learnt, we've been singing songs about Ruben and I feel so happy he gets to experience all the things he does at Kindyz of Queenwood. They've also been incredible supporting us with his learning around toileting. I couldn't think of a better place!”

“Absolutely love this Kindy, or more importantly, our kids love this Kindy. They were so nurturing to them as little individuals and they built some amazing relationships. They are also nurturing to the parents through each transition, wether it be starting the kids at Kindy or leaving to go to school. One thing in particular that is great for the kids is that they separate the ages from 3.5 - 5 into two groups so that they can do more specific learning with the kids that are closer to going to school. I've had amazing feedback from teachers at school that they have been in good positions to start the school curriculum. Can not rate them highly enough.”

“This is one of the most incredible kindy facilities I have ever been to. Both of our kids attended from 6 months old and when it came time to go to school they had all of the tools to start them off in the right direction. They could write, read and were aware of how the school day ran. Heather and her team are very nurturing, funny and always give the kids the tools, time and love that they need to develop in to great young kids. I honestly believe that they have helped shape our kids in to the cool little individuals they are today. You know they must be doing something right when even your 8 yr old who hasn't been there for ages keeps asking to go back and visit!”
