What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Kidsfirst Kindergartens Edmonds Smith St, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Our two children went here, and although we knew they would be there for only few weeks due to my partner’s work - the relationship they’ve built with teachers and the way they felt so comfortable to be themselves in such a short period is AMAZING. All teachers are absolutely amazing, very warm yet professional. It does confirm that quality beats quantity. Thank you, dear teachers and dear tamariki, for sharing this moment in time with us! ❤️ Thanks to those personalised books we’ll remind kids about this incredible time of their lives, and I’ll for sure never forget how kind and helpful you all were to all of us!”
“I attended this kindy when it was just Edmonds Smith Street Kindergarten back in 1989-1990 had great memories of what I can remember esp the play doh cake for birthdays😁fast forward 23 years later and my boys came here, they're now teens. Great Special Ed teachers my boy had which was Sue and Ally absolutely amazing 👌🏾.
