About Kauri Park Kindergarten
About Free Kindergarten
Free Kindergartens typically offer sessional or part-day early learning programmes led by fully qualified teachers, following Te Whāriki and emphasising learning through play, social interaction, and community involvement. These centres cater to families seeking high-quality education in a not-for-profit, community-based setting with strong ties to local whānau.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Kauri Park Kindergarten, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Kauri Park Kindy is a great place! The teachers are amazing and caring and love to encourage our children's interests through learning. We are really happy we made the change to Kindy. It has definitely set our son up well for starting school.”
“Kauri park kindergarten is such a great school full of amazing teachers, awesome resources and has such a nice indoor/ outdoor environment. My daughter has been attending for 3 terms now and is thriving! I cannot recommended KPK enough.”
“Awesome little kindy - currently my 3 y/o is attending and he loves it there. Always plenty of opportunity for creativity, play and exploration, with a variety of activities and opportunity of school visits and bush walks near by. The teachers are of a very high calibre, super helpful, considerate and most importantly you get the feeling that they really care for your child. There is great indoor - outdoor flow, shaded areas for the kids to be protected from the sun, sandpits, swings, you name it they have it. My 1 yeqar old girl must come along in the mornings because she likes it there so much! In a few years! There is always something fun happening, e.g. an event for a disco, magician or colour run etc. which you as a parent can also take part in. You get sent regular updates about how your child is progressing and if you choose you can receive photo updates of them busy in their various activities. Couldnt recommend enough.”
“We came from another kindy in the area and were so blown away with the quality of Kauri Park. The teachers are incredibly engaged and nurture each child's individual passions. A favourite of our daughters is the bush walks they do almost weekly, it is so nice for the kids to get exploring. They also regularly invite speaker to engage with the kids on a wide range of topics to stimulate different discussions. The environment that they have set up is so warm, friendly and engaging that any child would thrive there!”
“Amazing space and teachers! My son loved it and it was a second home to him. The outdoor playground is fantastic”
