I’ve had ongoing concerns about the quality of care at this daycare. Each time I picked up my son, I noticed redness and irritation from what appeared to be infrequent nappy changes. It broke my heart. Over time, it became clear to me that the focus here may be more on numbers and money than on truly caring for the children. These centres only operate because of us—the parents. We pay their wages. We support their business. And in return, we expect our children to be treated with love, attention, and respect. I’ve since made the decision to hire a caregiver at home for my son, and while it’s not a small step, it brings me peace of mind. Every child deserves to feel safe and cared for. To the daycare staff: this isn’t just a business. You’re being trusted with the most important part of our lives—our children. Please do better. And to the parents reading this: speak up.
