About Education & Care Service

Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.

What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?

20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Go Bananas Childcare Swanson, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

“I absolutely love Go Bananas Swanson, the teachers in the Bambino room take such amazing care of our 7 month old. We don't have a lot of family ourselves so the Go Bananas team we consider our family, I absolutely love walking in there every morning and afternoon and seeing the manager smile and wave at us, the wonderful teachers greet us with a smile and such kindness. We get to see what the children have planned for the day from the activites right down to the nutritious food that they are being fed. I love that everything is documented down in a booklet so they can follow along from what we've done at home & I can then go home with him & I can continue off from what they have done while he's been there and keep track of feeds, sleeps, nappy changes. After being with my boy and never being apart from him & then all of a sudden having to return back to work, letting him go was a hard decision but I can work knowing my boy is extremely well cared for, so much so that he almost doesn't want to leave! We walk in with a big smile every morning and I never thought I'd be comfortable with leaving my baby so young in the care of anyone else so that says A LOT about how much I value the team. If there's ANY concerns, questions or you just want to have a chat, Alan (the manager) will ALWAYS make time for you and the teachers will always explain everything, communication is key, we are the kind of people who like to be involved & have a chat & get to know everyone because at the end of the day, you are caring for our children and relationships are so important, thank you for making that easy for us. Thank you Christine, Manpreet & Alan & the rest of the team for being there for our little boy and even our 8 year old loves coming in for a chat! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for all you do for these children Bambino team. You mean the world to us & we are excited to be spending many more years to come with the team & watching you make memories with our boy & giving him the experiences that he wouldn't get at home! :)”

“sad to say we loved this place on first impression, also loved our grand daughter going the first week. but found weeks later she became more and more scared of her class. became more quiet then usual at home, and seemed more and more depressed. would love to say we loved our baby going but the last few days we've felt more and more sad when we pick her up. not only that we had incidents with our nephews who are able to talk and stand up for themselves, come home and tell us things that have been happening. today we witnessed our baby still in the same nappy and until they seen us then it was time to change her nappy 🥲 yesterday my sister witnessed babies get yelled at before we were spotted walking in then it went awkward and quiet. bambino room is a sad sad place for babies under 2 if any mothers need someone to care for their babies please contact me this has made me want to do something at home so please contact me if you would like me to help care for you babies.”

“It’s such a big decision choosing a daycare for your child, moving them away from the one on one care they have had at home. Go Banana’s has been great for our son, he is thriving in the care of the teachers in the Bambino room. His confidence has grown immensely and we can see through his cheeky interactions with the teachers how at home he feels there.”
