About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Explore & Flourish, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Our son has attended Explore & Flourish for the past 3 years. His teachers are super proactive and create fun, meaningful learning experiences which have really triggered his curiosity. We love seeing photos via the Storypark app, and hearing from him about all the incredible adventures and activities that he participates in during his days at Explore and Flourish. We appreciate how each of his teachers individually bring such wonderful, warm qualities to cater to all his needs. They have gone above and beyond our expectations and we couldn't be more thankful to each of them. They are all so approachable and forthcoming with stories about his days and genuinely interested in his home life as well. It is so reassuring knowing that he is being left in such loving and kind hands each day as we head off to work. We highly recommend!”
“Both of my boys have been here for the past 3 years and I think of this place as an extension of my family. From day 1 they have been such brilliant teachers and everyone genuinely cares about all the children. The centre includes all food and eat such healthy and delicious meals. As a working parent since 7 months old, knowing your children are well loved, eating nutrious meals, are getting a fantastic education is a huge weight off my mind. Regular excursions in the van from parks, swimming, dancing etc which makes the days different for the kids. It's such a community amongst the families where we all get together to celebrate mothers day, Matariki, fathers day and Christmas. Working in another ECE centre makes me appreciate it even more!”
“A really beautiful space with lovely, caring staff. Everything is provided along with diverse activities to keep kids cared for and entertained all day. Highly recommend!”
