About Education & Care Service

Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.

What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?

20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Busy Bees Cambridge, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

“My daughter has attended this centre for almost 2 years now. The staff are so lovely, warm and welcoming - they give wonderful reassurance and updates to not only you as the parent but the children when first starting out. They monitor each child’s learning development and create individual plans to help growth in what best suits the child and their families. They’re nurturing and treat your children as their own. I’ve always been so appreciative of how open and welcoming they are to daily conversations to let you know how your child’s day were and allow you the small insight on your child’s day to day activities! You’ll absolutely love the outdoor and indoor space available throughout the centre, something special and rewarding that can be hard to come across and having a child who loves the outdoors this was a dream come true! They offer so many fun learning activities and resources and you can keep up to date with your child’s learning experiences through Storypark. It was so comforting knowing and visually seeing my child have the supervised freedom to play both indoors and outdoors, allowing them to explore their belonging in their centre and environment. The meals are a wonderful, nutritious range made by the loveliest chefs and they also cater to special dietary requirements! At such a fair price for your child’s development they have so much on offer - you need to check out their variety of animals and don’t forget to enquire about enrolling your child for weekly pony rides with Marion! My daughter and I absolutely love this centre and recommend to anyone in a heartbeat, we are sad to go and if we could pack the centre up and move it away with us we would! Be sure to give them a call or drop in for a tour at any time, no booking is needed! How cool is that! Thank you for loving my child as if one of your own and helping to guide her educational and social growth in such a short time 😊”

“This is hands down the best daycare I have had the pleasure of being a part of, and with 4 kids I have seen a few! The staff here are amazing and have gone above and beyond to meet the needs of my family, they have supported us during difficult times and celebrated with us also. The experiences available at this daycare are incredible and every day my daughter gets to see all kinds of animals, grow plants in the garden and made mud cakes in the mudpit! They have a fantastic set up with so much space outside, I can't recommend it enough!!”

“Both my children have been through this centre (with my baby due to head off to school shortly!). We hit the jackpot when we moved to Cambridge and found LE! The centre provides many opportunities for the kids to learn and develop their interests. I can't praise the teachers enough. They go over and above for the families in the centre, are approachable and easy to deal with. The teachers love my children as if they were their own and continue to take an interest in their development long after they have left the centre.”

“It’s ok but I think their advertising is better then their service. I recommend looking at more kindy options choosing. In regards of the animals which are praised in their adds, they are all locked away so the kids don’t actually seem to have much interaction with them. Also super pricey.”
