About Education & Care Service

What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at BestStart Raureka, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“I've been sending these lovely ladies my babies since 2010 a few of them are still there to this day, they are an amazing team of caring and genuine people who take their jobs of taking care of our tamariki seriously. i have never had any problems with my children going here and they have been for over 10 years now. The Centre has changed names since 2010 but the whanau feel is still the same! If I could go back in time and send my eldest kid here i would. Thank you to the amazing team at BestStart Raureka for all you do for my whanau!”
“Nothing but thanks and appreciation for these ladies and all they did for my little family. Great for babies and getting ready for big kid school. Miss them so much. Only changed as moved town, we had 3 happy years with them.”
