About BestStart Coast Boulevard
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at BestStart Coast Boulevard, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Both our children are happy and settled at this centre due to the fantastic team of educators who are very good at what they do.”
“I have had a great experience with all the staff at BestStart Coast Boulevard so far and feel that they are providing my daughter with a fun, encouraging and caring environment.”
“The staff are amazing with all the children and parents. We are informed about everything happening and going on in the centre. Very thoughtful when the children are transitioning from one room to another. There is always support when you need it for whatever reason. Encouraging the children to try new things and helping strenghen skills they already have. Overall amazing centre and staff, I would recommend to anyone looking for a early childhood centre.”
“Staff are very friendly and welcoming, talking lots to the little ones, was awesome with my babys sleeping. But I've rated this centre low because of my 6m old going into anaphylactic shock due to being given dairy (dairy intolerant, centre was aware of this) I understand mistakes happen but this was on the first day of baby being on solids here, so I would of thought it would have been practice to check over paperwork for any allergies etc being that this was the first day. They said that baby was really tired but was okay (they called healthline) which really confused me because I could tell she wasn't ok, and took her to docs who instantly rang an ambulance after seeing her state. The centre is re-assesing their allergy procedure which is good to know. I don't agree with baby's having screentime, which I did pickup my 6m old one time where she was having tummy time with screentime, so its unknown if that was only the one time or not, for those 2 reasons I've rated it lowly”
“My baby boy has been attending Coast Boulevard for about 4 months now and I am so satisfied with his care. Each morning his face lights up as we walk down the hall towards his room, and as soon as I put him down he is off to play! When I pick him up he is covered in sand, sunblock, gloop etc and other evidence of the fun he has had that day. I love that he has so much to play with and so many cool different activities. Would 100% recommend Best Start Coast Boulevard to anyone!”
