About Active Explorers Mana
About Education & Care Service
Education & Care Services are mainstream early learning centres that offer full-day or part-day care with a structured curriculum, qualified teachers, and a focus on learning through play. They cater to families needing flexible childcare options and wanting a balanced approach that supports social, physical, and early academic development in a diverse environment.
What Is 20 Hours ECE funding?
20 Hours ECE is a government-funded initiative that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education for families with tamariki aged 3–5. Eligible children can receive up to 20 hours of funded care and education each week at participating services. Centres can set their own enrolment patterns and may ask for optional charges, but the funded hours themselves should be free of compulsory fees. If you are unsure how this works at Active Explorers Mana, it is best to ask the centre directly how they apply 20 Hours ECE.

Parent Reviews
“Enjoyed the past 5 years with AE Mana for my two kiddies. They provided great care for my kids and started their learning journey off strong. Thank you AE, Mana. We miss you. x”
“Hands down the best centre my children have ever attended. The staff are so attentive and loving towards my children and really make us feel like a part of an extended family. The learning structure they have for my son is tailored to him and brings out the best in him and his growth and how they manage his behavioural issues is outstanding. I have nothing but positive things to say about Active Explorers Mana and i already have my 14 week old on the waitlist for placement next year.”
“My daughter first day care was this. Please dnt send your kids over here.Their teachers keep on changing. If you are sending your kids here please pack their food because they are getting ready to make meals which is seriously harmful for your kid.At times,You will see teachers using screens with kids if you go for in-between pickup .Their will a lot of sick kids in this daycare .I am not the only one other parents also felt their kids had hard time in the daycare.Your entire family will have hard time in this day care not just your kid so watch out for that.”
“Our boy was at Mana Active Explorers from 6 months old until he started school in December. I can honestly say that he loved every second of it. Always ready to tell us stories of the adventures he was getting up to and the team shared great info on StoryPark. They quickly picked up on his interests and helped him in the areas he needed extra guidance. He especially loved Monday morning Science and is now set on becoming a doctor!!! Highly recommend”
“We had our daughters first day of transition today after moving down from Auckland. I lasted only a few minutes with her, before she was out and about making friends and talking to the teachers. What was meant to be an hour and a half transition with me present, turned into me leaving the centre and picking her up 5hrs later. Such a welcoming and friendly center and my little girl felt comfortable and safe straight away!. I look forward to seeing her grow in this space and getting to know all the staff. I would highly recommend enrolling your kids to this amazing centre 🥰”
